As part of The Pledge, Woodhey High School's Personal Development programme, our Year 8 and Year 9 students recently took part in Take Your Child to Work Day, giving them the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and experience the world of work first-hand.

The initiative is designed to broaden students' aspirations, develop their understanding of different career pathways, and help them appreciate the skills and qualities needed in today's workplaces. By spending the day alongside parents, carers, family members and other professionals, students gained valuable insight into a wide range of industries and occupations.

From healthcare and engineering to business, hospitality, construction, education and creative industries, our students enjoyed an incredible variety of placements. As the photographs show, they embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity and professionalism, making the most of this modern approach to work experience.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all of the parents, carers and employers who supported this fantastic initiative by welcoming our students into their workplaces. Your generosity, encouragement and willingness to share your experiences have helped create meaningful opportunities that will have a lasting impact on our young people.
